What is the planter bottom option?
Planter bottoms are available for any size raised beds, allowing full size vegetable gardens on patios, roof-tops, driveways, and parking lots. The slatted cedar bottom sits an inch off the ground and provides excellent drainage on non-absorbent surfaces such as compacted dirt and concrete.
Raised beds with bottoms are ideal for garden projects in urban environments where the ground may be toxic or completely paved-over. The planter bottom separates healthy soil from the ground below and forms a barrier between food-producing plants and potentially harmful chemicals.
Planter bottoms are shipped in pre-assembled panels that can be tiled to fit under any size raised bed. Simply lay the bottom sections down and assemble the raised bed on top of them.
